In May, Magazine London hosted a PR shoot for the announcement of the judges of the BMW Filmmaking Challenge in partnership with the BFI.
The partnership aims to support aspiring filmmakers, helping them to develop their careers. Said to be inspired by the all-electric BMW i7 and its progressive, innovative design which features an ultra-wide rear-passenger theatre screen; the challenge is designed to stretch filmmakers artistically and bring their unique stories to life.
Minimal set design was required, as the judges of the challenge, Actor Ncuti Gatwa, Screenwriter Terri White, and Director / Producer Asif Kapadia, starred alongside the car itself.
Set against a striking backdrop of the Canary Wharf skyline, the floor-to-ceiling windows of Space One provided plenty of natural light for the shoot. Architectural details such as the angular stainless steel staircases and the reflective, polished concrete floors created interest in the stills. The futuristic design of Magazine London spoke to the forward-thinking values of both BMW and the BFI alike.
