Magazine is known for showcasing international design talent. Its natural light, polished concrete floors and black OSB walls provide an understated but luxurious canvas that allows clean lines and engineering to shine.
In December we hosted a photoshoot showcasing the new electrified addition to BMW’s flagship 7 Series range. The car itself brings significant advances in technology: fully electric with no compromise on power. It takes you from nought to sixty in less than five seconds, and a single charge can keep you going for up to 387 miles, or from London to Edinburgh.
The BMW i7 is equally remarkable for the team of women who built it. The three designers. Carina Gärtner, Annette Baumeister and Daniela Kern, have described the move to electric as a necessity rather than a choice. The photographs celebrate their impact as leaders in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
Dressed and photographed by British Vogue, the women introduce the car’s key functionalities. Bathed in daylight from the floor-to-ceiling river windows of Space 1, the photographs represent a new age of innovation and diversity in automotive design.
