This October, Magazine hosted the Rated Awards by music platform GRM Daily, an awards ceremony dedicated to celebrating the best in UK rap and grime. Having hosted two years of virtual shows during the pandemic, this year the event burst back into reality at Magazine London. The venue, which was custom-built for hybrid events, was the perfect setting for the evening’s ceremony, which was broadcast live on Channel 4.
The front of the building was decked out with a red carpet, with guests entering to a reception overlooking the River in Space 1. Big Zuu and Julie Adenuga were hosts for the night, in a ceremony that was all about the music. There were performances from ArrDee, Tion Wayne, Dreya Mac and K-Trap on the main stage, and additional performance areas set up outdoors in both the Yard and the Terrace. The biggest winners were Dave, who picked up four awards including album, track and video of the year, and Little Simz, crowned Female Artist of the Year hot off the heels of her Mercury win.
