Marking the 500th issue of the Magazine, the 2022 Gay Times Honours returned to Magazine London for a night of performance, music and queer excellence. The awards ceremony celebrates LGBTQI+ culture and achievements across all spheres, from sport to community activism.

The awards ceremony first came to Magazine London in 2019, the success of which prompted a return to the riverside venue in 2021. It was the perfect setting for an out-of-the-ordinary awards ceremony, with views across the city skyline and a custom-built black box theatre for the ticketed after-party, with performances from Rina Sawayama and The Blessed Madonna.

The 2021 winners included Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall, honoured for Allyship, and Team LGBTQ+, who won the award for Outstanding Impact after bringing home over 50 medals in the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic games. In 2022, Ncuti Gatwa received the award for On-screen trailblazer, while Anick Soni won British Community Trailblazer for his activism in intersex and human rights.

The 2022 celebration was the biggest yet, with over a thousand people attending and performances from Pabllo Vittar, ALMA, L Devine, and Gay Brother and DJ sets from Honey Dijon, Jodie Harsh and BBZ.
